The Leek Branch of the Royal British Legion in North Staffordshire had, with the help of a local
historian, identified 14 service personnel and one civilian who had
died in or shortly after World War II but had not been included on
the town's War Memorial.
War Memorials Trust
contributed £180.00 towards the cost of three bronze plaques listing
these names which then complemented two existing plaques to 101
other local war-dead.
- Plaque 1 for the Civilian who died in Leek as a result of
enemy action
- Plaque 2 for seven who died in service 1945 - 1947
- Plaque 3 for seven who fell in 1939 - 1945
