The Royal British Legion
Meritorious Service Certificates |
|
| |
The motto of The
Royal British Legion is "Service Not Self".
Recognition and awards have to be earned. The
following are examples of the different types of
Certificate that members can be
awarded for "Meritorious Service" from Branch right up to National
Certificate of Appreciation first introduced in
1933. [Link
to Award Criteria Page] The National
Certificate of Appreciation lapel (seen on the
right) badge was first introduced in the 1960's
to identify the wearer as having been awarded
The Legion's Highest Honour.
Life members also have a Life Membership
certificate. The first certificate in this
online collection is a rare example of a early
post war (WWII) Branch Certificate of
Appreciation.
