All Management Levels
at Branch, Group or County, Are Now ‘Accountable’ For The
Activities Of The Legion |
 |
 |
 |
 |
| |
Under Charity Law the National Trustees of
The Royal British Legion and volunteer members, at all
management levels, are ‘accountable’ for the activities of
the Legion. There is a need for all volunteer Members
holding RBL Office at National, County and Branch levels to
be trained and instructed as to their duties and
responsibilities. This National Training Course Programme is
designed by the Membership Support & Training Department in
conjunction with the Legion Training and Development
Department, on behalf of the Training Advisory Group (TAG),
to meet that training need and offers a variety of courses
to the Legion Membership.
Courses are held either in the North of England ( invariably
The Queen’s Hotel, Leeds ) and in the South at the Tidworth
College. A majority of courses convene on a Friday afternoon
and disperse after lunch on Sunday. The costs are covered by
the RBL, which includes travelling expenses, unless
otherwise stated on the course profile (pages 3-13). In most
cases students are awarded an attendance certificate on
completion of the course. Records of course attendance are
maintained by the Membership Training Department.
National Training Courses are extremely popular, therefore,
it is advisable to apply for course vacancies at least 4
months prior to the course dates. Applications should be
made using the application form at pages 17-18. All
applications must be endorsed by the County Training
Officer. |
|
| |
Target Student:
County officers, County Committee Members and specialist
County appointments. Students must have the ability
and motivation to take an active part in discussions and
syndicate work during the course. |
|
| |
Aim:
To brief RBL officers, at
County level, on County Management structures and
procedures, to emphasise their duties and responsibilities
and to practice simple project planning at County/District
level. |
