North Staffordshire County Site Best In The UK!
The Royal British Legion in North Staffordshire web site is considered to be the best of its
type in the UK. It is actively promoted by several
members of The Board of Trustees to other counties, as
an example of best practice and the way forward. We have
received enquiries to date from several counties
including Lincolnshire, and South Staffordshire.
The site benefits from having a visibility rating
(search engine ranking /positioning) second to none of 95.64% across
the Top 4 (99.78% Google.com/ Google.co.uk respectively,
99.44% MSN and 84.44% Yahoo) UK search engines and
directories. This translates as 58 of our keyword
phrases are ranked NUMBER ONE out 60! The visibility
rating is the major contributing factor in the increase
of visitors to our site from 647 in February to 29,962

Living Document
As our site is a living document about The Royal British
Legion in North Staffordshire, we need your support as
part of The Team in making our site a continuing
success.
Firstly we need more stories about your branch, new or
old (old stories for our branches archive), branch
histories, old photographs of past events, items of
Legion Memorabilia (Major John Bamford has lent his
1949-1953 British Legion Associate Card and 3 monthly
receipts for inclusion on the site). There is also a
continuing need for photographs of your branch officials
and committee members to go with their contact details
(feedback visitors: they like to see faces), so don’t be
shy.
Legion In The Community Links Initiative
Secondly the Legion In The Community Links Initiative is
bringing your branch and or club closer ties in web
terms to your local community as part of "Legion In Your
Community" and the "County Public Awareness Campaign".
For instance Cheddleton Branch & Club, have a link to
Cheddleton Net, Kings Bromley are linked to UKVillages
(Kings Bromley Society’s & Clubs), and
Gnosall is linked
to their Gnosall Village web site. These links are all
contributing factors in the success of our top visited
branches. If you are aware of any web site you wish to
be added to your “Legion In The Community Links”, please
let the
Web Manager know.
